Dubarry is a truly iconic brand on the country and equestrian scene. It started life in 1937 in Galway, Ireland. But it wasn’t until the 1970s that Dubarry started to appear in the UK with its deck shoes and later sailing boots.

In the 1990s, Dubarry started developing products for the country market, and arguably one the first and most instantly recognisable country boots ever was born: The Galway. With its renowned contrasting leather bands around the leg, sturdy and durable sole, and drawcords at the top, the Dubarry Galway took its place in the country boot hall of fame, and on many a country and equestrian’s lower leg too!

The Galway Boot was also waterproof, and Dubarry went to (and continue to go to) great lengths at shows to illustrate this. Many people will know the bucket of water that sits in front of Dubarry tradestands, with members of the Dubarry team standing in the water for fair lengths of time to prove just how good the Dubarry Galway boot is.

Today, the Galway Boot is still a hugely popular product, and it’s not surprising when you see the specification and have experienced the comfort of this country boot. The GORE-TEX lining insulates, keeps feet dry and wicks moisture away with the breathable leather outer looking stylish if worn in a field or for smarter occasions.
