Does my horse need an exercise sheet or quarter sheet?An exercise sheet is a great addition to your horse’s riding wardrobe. They boast many benefits to your horse, protecting the kidney area from low temperatures, and cold chills, whilst being shaped around the saddle so not to interfere with riding. They are perfect for horses which are ‘cold backed’, horses which are clipped, or just feel the cold more. On rainy days, a
waterproof exercise sheet
is a perfect option to keep your horse dry, and protected from the elements. A
hi-vis option allows for increased visibility on the roads, offering another level of safety to hacking. A classic
fleece exercise sheet provides warmth and protection, for everyday winter riding, whilst a show fleece offers the same benefits, finished with an elegant, show-ring worthy design.
Should I pick an exercise sheet or a quarter sheet?It’s personal preference as both do essentially the same thing. Most exercise sheets are ‘cutaway’ and can be done up easily in front of the saddle. Quarter sheets normally attached to the girth straps under the saddle flap.What size exercise sheet or quarter sheet do I need?Exercise sheets are normally 18” shorter than the horse's normal rug. Our best-selling sizes is 4'9 which will fit most horses who wear a 6’3 or 6’6 rug. Quarter sheets are more usually sized small, medium, large etc. Large would generally be our best-selling size.

Exercise Sheets/Rug Care- Check and clean straps, fittings and stitching regularly
- Keep exercise sheets in a dry and airy place when not in use
- Waterproof exercise sheets will need reproofing from time to time to maintain their weather resistance
- Wash exercise sheets at 30°C with a mild, non-biological soap and leave to line or drip dry - do NOT tumble dry or dry clean
- NB: hand washing will prolong the life of the sheet's waterproof coating
